Our business name, The Fold, reflects our philosophy on the homes we build. The fold represents the uninterrupted building envelope; an airtight, high-performance thermal sleeve precision engineered and wrapped around the homeowner. In life, the fold represents shelter and belonging; a place of genuine sanctuary.
It may also be a play on our family name…
As a founding member of a successful FinTech company, Giles has considerable business, finance and commercial experience.
His real passion has always been property. He grew up in a unique Victorian Coach House, often helping his late father (Robert) remodel the house. Robert was a forward-thinking Architect with 50+ years of experience which Giles drew on in his early development projects. In 2016, Giles began to develop properties in a commercial capacity.
Giles researches, identifies, finances, acquires and develops sites where he can create architecturally unique, sustainable homes. He works with an experienced cohort of designers, engineers, building contractors and planning consultants who share his vision and drive.
Through building increasingly sustainable homes, Giles became a Passivhaus devotee. He completed the full Passivhaus Designer / Consultant course in early 2026 and is now a Certified Passivhaus Consultant. Passivhaus certification is globally recognised and ensures the certificant is expertly qualified to design high-performance, highly efficient buildings.
